Clarabel is one of Thomas's faithful coaches, given to Thomas as a reward for being a Really Useful Engine. Clarabel is pulled behind Annie and faces away from her. She prefers traveling backwards so she can see the beautiful island. Clarabel is a composite coach who carries both passengers and luggage.
