Puppet Theater
First thing you want to do is select a few of the coloring pages that you would like to use from our online library. Next you want to have the children color the images. Depending on the age of the children you may want to have an adult cutout the images. You want to use child safe glue and glue the cutout image on to thick construction paper. It is important that you use a thick construction paper to keep the image stiff. Once the image is has dried a little take a popsicle stick and glue it to the back center of the construction paper leaving a enough of it to hang off the edge for the child to hold. Sit and let dry. There you have it, your very own Thomas the Train sick puppet.
How To Make Your Own Thomas The Train Invitations
This will take a little ingenuity on your end. The first thing you will need to do is choose the image that you like best. Open the image in any type of graphics editing program and shrink the image down by approximately 75%. Open up another blank image that measures 8.5” X 11” which is the American standard for a sheet of paper. If the paper is not already in landscape mode (11” W X 8.5” H) rotate it so that it is.
If the graphics program that you are using had guidelines, use them to divide the paper into four equal quadrants. If not no big deal you can do it by sight. Copy and paste the image that you selected and shrank down 75% and paste it in the top left quadrant. Rotate the image 180 degrees which will flip it up side down. On the bottom right hand side of the paper write your copy i.e. “You are invited to my awesome birthday party.” You can write whatever your heart desires, you are only limited by creativity. Print the page out and fold it horizontally in half, then vertically with your image in the front, and BAM you have your very first Thomas The Train Invitation.
Coloring Contest Everyone Wins
This is one of my favorites. First I purchase some prizes for the kids from the dollar store. The prizes do not have to be anything extravagant or anything you just want to make sure that you have enough for all the kids.
I have found over the years that it is a lot better if I print out the same page. Whenever I printed out various pages for the children without a doubt there was one that everyone else preferred and they were not happy with the one they had. If I have 16 kids at the party I will print out 16 of the same images.
Pass out the coloring pages and allow the children to color them. Once they are done pretend as if choosing one is just difficult for you to do, and you have no choice but to declare all of them as being the winner. This means everyone receives a prize and no one is left out. Good fun by all.
